Brrrrr

Today's probably the coldest day of my life. The temperature outside is about -20C. With wind chill, it feels more like -35C. How cold is that? Well, your snot freezes in about 30 seconds. If you're foolish enough to leave any part of your skin exposed, it'll freeze and fall off after about 5 minutes.

So I'm stuck at home, lounging on the couch with my personal lap warmer - better known to you as Nina. I'm bored. I could probably find places to go to in the relative warmth of my car, but I don't feel like it. I have packing to do. Tomorrow I leave for the warmer coast. San Francisco isn't exactly warm, but I'm sure it'll feel warm after this.

So how exactly did you time the fact the snot freezes in 30 seconds? You really MUST be bored! Safe travels to SFO!

Eeeww! That's not cute. I was thinking we could just average out the temperatures from Toronto and Mumbai (30C), but it will still be too freezing cold thanks to you! :-P

Yowza. I think you are blowing all that Canuck weather down here too. It's cold as a witch's tit in a brass bra this week!! Wasn't that very folksy of me?

It is times like this when I am actually grateful for living on the balmy Gulf Coast.

WE have had unusual "cold" weather, but we never even reached the 20s, so I won't insult you by complaining about it here!

-20 & -35 sounds like someplace on the moon. The worst I have faced is -7 and I would have been a frozen homo-sapien if not for my colleagues who were holding me from both the sides.

Mumbai is also pleasantly cold these days, when all of us were expecting the heat to start baking us. Guess it is the whole global warming thing in play.

Waiting for the SF pics...

I am glad I do not live where you live during the winter. I do not like cold weather. I am a small person. I chill easily.

I must say that I enjoy reading your blog a lot. You write about interesting things, but you also write about everyday things, like cold weather. I really enjoy reading about other people's perspectives on the daily things. It's nice. For some reason, it calms me.

Can you tell that I am super stressed? Do yourself a favor: never go back to grad school.

Read a story long back - and it was the most chilling narration of the polar cold. You words reminded me of it.

A friend of mine e-mailed me to let me know he was sitting beside the pool in Miami, enjoying the 81 degree heat.
