The Toronto Star ran this piece on all the "wise" things we hear on TV. Here's an interesting one from Brenda on Six Feet Under.

Is that why they have tenure?

O I love Brenda. The only one I like more on that utterly mad, brillant show is the fiesty mother.
Lately I've been feeling more and more like this might have a kernel of truth to it.
WR - I loved Brenda too - for a while. My fav character though is Claire - the wacky sister.
autogato - I think the word 'sequestered' really captures it. Huge disconnect between academia and the real world.
