Little Actors

Ever wonder where they get those tiny babies that magically appear from under the hospital gown? Ever wonder about that gooey stuff they're covered in? Ever wonder what it takes to make them cry? A pinch? A spanking?

All I know is I'm never lending any baby of mine to play a newborn on a TV show.

You know, I get solicited all the time at the mall about the twins to go on tv. Apparently twins are highly coveted for tv work and modelling. I did do a little research on this though when I was contemplating giving them tv work, and most of those "newborns" you see on tv are actually about 2-3 months old. And they are covered in strawberry jello. Huh uh, you heard me right, it's jello, so in case the baby ingests it, it is completely harmless.

But I still refrain from giving them tv work, there's alot of creeps out there who want to take advantage of kids, I don't want to put my kids in the limelight like that and risk them being exploited.

I feel sorry for the kids. If I ever had kids of my own, I'd never let them be a part of something like that. I feel it is cruel and immoral. Parent's do not have any right to push their children into media, specially when we are talking about 2-3 months old infants. The way you have put it Ameet, it makes it more real and scary.

Strange are the folks who do this, but each one to their own?

I always imagined they were the babies of people the producers or directors knew.

And it was always evident that they were not truly newborn. Perhaps that's why dads so often freak out upon first seeing real live newborns covered in gunk much less attactive than strawberry jello and sometimes a little blue.

And you know, those newborn kids are about 3 or 4 months old. I noted that this evening when watching a woman "give birth" on a sit-com.

SO is it really Jell-o???????

(And thank you for welcoming me back to the world of the living. I'm giving it a shot!)
